We are planning a lot of really awesome things for this year's BarCampMilwaukee. It's our 5th year - a big one.
We sprinted to get a new site up in less than 2 days. It was a lot of fun to build and we are slowly building onto it. The idea is to have a totally reusable site; something that we haven't had since the first BCMKE site - we've built a new one every year (I know, crazy, right?).
This is the first year that we are formally having a KidsCamp. This is basically a barcamp inside of a barcamp with sessions geared toward kids. We want to make BarCamp an atmosphere friendly to the entire community - include the mini-geeks :}
Our friend Teecycle Tim and his family had their home destroyed by the #brewcityflood. We are stepping up to support the effort to #saveteecycle by asking people to bring monetary donations or shirt donations to help get them through this tough time.
This amazing 2 day event will be completely free and held at Bucketworks in Milwaukee's Walker's Point neighborhood on October 2nd & 3rd, 2010.
This year I've proposed a handful of sessions: OpenAtrium & Collaboration, Theming Drupal, Listening for Geeks: What did you say? I can't hear you over the sound of my server, and Geeks & Sex. I'll be co-hosting the late-night coderaving session as well.
Want to get involved? You can register, propose a session (or 5! :D), donate or sponsor.
